Welcome to the Baltic Sea Thematic portal

Centre for Ocean and Ice (COI), at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), provides the MERSEA Baltic Sea component.
We run an operational production
of forecasts of the physical oceanographic conditions for the North Sea - Baltic Sea system using
the DMI-BSHCmod 3D-ocean model.
The model is based on the BSHCmod 3D-ocean model developed at
Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH), Hamburg, Germany.
The DMI version and model set-up of the model code is named DMI-BSHCmod.
